Transart announces the completion of the version for Android of the new range of HERMES Evolution products, the most powerful Sales & Merchandising Force Automation system on the Romanian market
Presented to the public in autumn on the occasion of the most important event in as far as mobility is concerned – Internet & Mobile World 2012, HERMES Evolution for Android could be tested live, both on Smartphones and on tablets, in Transart’s stand within the exhibition.On the occasion of Internet & Mobile World, in the conference programme Transart presented two case studies with two significant implementations of the HERMES system – in beer industry, and in the pharmaceutical industry, as a preamble to the announcement of the news on HERMES Evolution for Android. On this occasion, Mr. Marius IURIAN, Managing Partner Transart stated:
“We wanted to present these case studies in order to highlight the functional complexity of the HERMES system and its degree of adaptability to the specificity of various industries. The Android version of HERMES Evolution that we are launching today includes all the functions that existed in previous versions of Windows Mobile. When we say that we are launching a version on a new platform, we are not talking about a version that offers a basic level of functionality, but about one that includes all the functionalities available in the previous edition”.
The new HERMES Evolution range proposes an enhanced user experience, an intuitive interface – adapted to all types of mobile terminals (with touch screen), as well as greater flexibility allowing this solution to be successfully adapted to the specific needs of any industry. The main modules of HERMES Evolution are: Sales, Marketing & Merchandising, Targets, TeleSales, Analysis & Reporting, GPS and FOTO.
The Android platform has been the most widely used operating system on Smartphones for more than a year, reaching a rate of 68,1% at the end of the second trimester of 2012, according to IDC.
“This is not the first migration to a new platform that Transart has performed successfully. We’ve already been through a similar experience when we migrated HERMES from PalmOS to Windows Mobile. From the architectural point of view, however, this time we have done something extraordinary: approx. 70% of the source code was reused in the Android version, which is why I want to congratulate the development team.” declared Mr. Marius IURIAN.
Transart also announces the first three customers who will begin to use the new HERMES Evolution for Android solution during the month of October. Two of the customers have chosen tablet type terminals, while the third preferred a state-of-the-art Smartphone model.
Another important aspect is that clients benefit from support from Transart for a gradual migration to Android. In other words, they do not have to completely abandon the old fleet of mobile terminals when introducing the first Android terminals. Transart understands their clients’ investment effort, therefore we wanted to facilitate the mixed use of terminals so that migration to the newest models should occur gradually, in as natural a manner as possible.
